So, I'm not sure if I'm ever going to be posting this one for real, but it's something sitting in my Google docs. If you want me to continue, give me a poke in the comments! I need more inspiration to keep writing at the moment, since the winter always kills my drive.

This is a modern omegaverse AU where Dean is an omega police detective and Castiel is the suit that comes in from Quantico planning to crack open the city's omega kidnapping ring. (There's illicit auctions, Dean is going to be kidnapped, but it's essentially a casefic.)

Dean had always passed. That was the key to his survival. More than anything else, passing as an Alpha was one of the things which kept him alive and kicking, free to go about his life without question or interference. He kept his head up, even when the possibility of surrendering to inevitability might have been the easier option, when all he wanted to do was sit back and let the world happen to him. He fought; he had to fight and keep fighting, and it was ceaseless, a drain of energy that he didn’t have.

Nobody knew, and to his credit they had no reason to suspect, either. Dean played the role well. He took the pills that his father gave him, sucked on lozenges that altered his scent, and exerted his dominance in every single interaction.

“I’ll not have an Omega bitch for a son,” he’d growled. “Pull yourself together, boy.”

Like it was that easy.

I'm deeply concerned about the new rules on pillowfort, the fact that they banned an artist already, the use of the words "good faith" and "bad faith" in their discussion (good faith specifically is one of the terms we have issue with in the Article 13 situation), the precedent it sets and the arguments happening in the comments. Oh, and all the people who seem more offended that people are disrespecting the staff/the beta than the nature of the site's response to these issues.

As an example: If they want to get an app in the app store, they're gonna have to play by exactly the same rules, and this is an example of the actions they're going to take when they need to change them. It doesn't bode well.

I am leaving tumblr because I stand with the community and I stand with artists. If Pillowfort is going to treat artists just as unprofessionally based on the content they're producing, and on a whim, then I can't justify going there either. Which is frustrating af because people seem determined to go. Twitter offered no reprieve. If anything the influx of new users only made the wankstorm more profound and it's an even worse place to be than it was before.

Also I can barely load pillowfort, so... Guess I'm resolved. Dreamwidth or bust.

Everything is still tentative around here as people settle in, so the purpose of this comm MAY change to something different so that all the Destiel community's needs are filled (probably a news comm/weekly Destiel feed to match the fic and art comms). Everyone who joined here should go and join

thedestiel community too, and bear in mind we're still all finding our feet here. Some toe stepping may happen, but we'll sort it all out. Thanks for joining us, lurkers et al!

Finding homes for his new beehives leads Castiel to the Winchester farm, where Dean grows hops and apples and brews his own craft beers and ciders. With little brother Sam moving away to pursue married life in California, Dean is faced with the unfortunate prospect of no longer being able to sustain his grandfather’s farm on his own.

Two legacy businesses collide, and in the midst of them a beekeeper and a brewer fall in love. <big>WHAT:</big> Part One of the <a href="http://maskormenaceooc.dreamwidth.org/324437.html#comments">Horsemen Plot</a>, this is the time for Pestilence to take hold. Pestilence will spread randomly, like an illness, as well as pass by direct proximity with the ring, held by Chilton, and those who become affected will swiftly fall into a death-like sleep. After that, characters will find themselves in a shared dreamscape (see text of this post) populated by their own and other people's psyches, dreams and nightmares. Outside of this dreamscape, others will try to wake them - but short of waiting for the illness to subside, there's really only one cure: sharing their true feelings about the affected person.

As you think within this atmosphere, your thoughts conceive manifestation -- the environment you witness swirls and shifts to your subconscious. You build your setting, and your setting may clash with other dreamers. This Dreamscape was born from the inclinations of Frederick Chilton, and the subconscious is its crowned king. That conceptional influence gives you a mountain of power, along with a corrosive fault line of responsibility. Every passing idea in your brain serves to flesh out the Dreamscape of Pestilence. It is highly likely that your darker fears and cruelties will find their opportunity to breathe, and they are just as "physical" in this astral plane as you are.

Because your environment is ultimately the subconscious creation of a pestilence Chilton, there are three stages that the Dreamscape can become -- though it's all according to your emotional and mental state. Morpheus is the mildest of the three. This level concerns the people in your life, and their cruelty or kindness you interpret. Phantasos is the middling range. The victim will suffer surrealistic fantasy dreams that are weird and absurd. This is the strangest of sleep, the unnerving nature of your mind. It can go dark, or funny, and the setting of a Phantasos level will involve woods, caverns, mountains, and other natural settings. And Phoebetor serves as the nightmare level. This is where catastrophe comes true. Everything you most dread, every little horrific whisper in the back of your mind, that's going to happen with a Phoebeter severity. </cut>
